How focused are you on Jesus? During the Christmas season, it seems as though everything is battling for our attention... and often, Jesus gets none.
In Luke 2, there is a man named Simeon, who seems to have a singular focus. His focus was on Nothing But Jesus. We are told that he was "waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ." We are not told how long he was waiting, but he was laser-focused on seeing Jesus one day.
When Joseph and Mary brought Jesus to the temple, Simeon went over to Jesus and picked him up in his arms. The moment must have been awe-inspiring. Simeon's response was to praise God saying, "Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation..." Now that his eyes were focused on Jesus, nothing else mattered. He had seen his salvation — the one who makes all bad things come untrue.
What are you focused on this Christmas? What are you looking to in hopes that it will make all the bad things in life come untrue?
Look to Jesus. Focus on Him.
Let it Be Jesus... as our focus!
